Oil painting of the mill by Margaret Schmidt

The mill was originally built by E. C. Lyle in 1894. It was unique in that it was used to shell corn, grind feed and sharpen sickles as wel as pump water. It now stands in disrepair and AcV2, along with the Grieve Family, are joining forces with the South Dakota Historic Preservation Office, in order to stop the damage that time and weather have caused. Our ultimate goal is to restore it back to working conditions and to have it serve as an educational facility.
